In a surprising collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Questline Uncovered

According to the formal release, "An unusual meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine sect.

The questline concentrates on "peculiar tests and a fearsome adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Metamorphoses

The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who finish the quest will obtain an unique katana in addition to multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Exclusive arms
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This patch also adds the game's third free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
